Wildlife cameos at a Rain Garden
I had the privilege of capturing the beauty of a rain garden at Desert Meadows Park, designed by Charlene Westgate of Westgate Garden Design. The garden is a stunning example of passive rainwater harvesting, where natural elements like logs, rocks, and strategically placed swales and basins are used to slow, redirect, and filter runoff water. This sustainable design not only helps prevent erosion along the walking paths but also creates a vibrant, thriving habitat for local wildlife. It’s a perfect blend of functionality and ecological beauty, transforming stormwater management into a peaceful oasis in the heart of the desert.
